What is International Linen and Uniform Service Day?
Observed each year on August 9, International Linen and Uniform Service Day (ILUD) recognizes the people who power the global linen, laundry, and uniform service industry. It also marks the anniversary of a major innovation: the 1910 patent of the first electric washing machine — “Thor” — by Alva J. Fisher.
From healthcare and hospitality to food service and manufacturing, the linen and uniform industry supports nearly every corner of the economy. Clean linens, hygienic environments, and professional uniforms are more than conveniences — they’re critical to safety, quality, and continuity.
Introducing This Year’s Campaign: Laundry Legends
To celebrate ILUD 2025, we’re proud to unveil our new campaign:
Laundry Legends — a comic book–inspired tribute to the professionals who bring skill, reliability, and purpose to their roles every day.
This short-form video series features four origin stories — each character a fictionalized superhero based on real-life roles in the laundry world. While their costumes may be stylized, their powers are grounded in truth.

Sortix represents the essential work of sorting — where the laundry journey begins. With laser focus and unmatched attention to detail, Sortix ensures that every item enters the wash correctly. From healthcare linens to hospitality towels, Sortix brings calm to the chaos with precision and purpose. - 🔹 Solvix – Master of Clarity and Connection
Solvix channels the expertise of customer service professionals. They transform questions into answers, problems into solutions, and calls into connections. With sharp communication skills and genuine empathy, Solvix keeps customers informed, supported, and confident in their service. - 🔹 Loaden – The Route’s Reliable Force
Loaden embodies the steady hands and dependable hearts of delivery drivers. Navigating tight schedules and changing routes, Loaden is the physical link between facilities and front doors. Every delivery completed on time is a result of their strength, consistency, and dedication. - 🔹 Cyclon – Commander of Flow and Force
Cyclon symbolizes the leadership at the center of every successful operation — the general managers and owners who unite people, process, and purpose. From scheduling to strategy, Cyclon keeps the energy flowing and the business moving with unstoppable momentum. Together, these Laundry Legends show that true heroism isn’t found in fantasy — it’s found in every shift, every role, and every team member who shows up with pride and professionalism.
